How is our performance? Are we having an impact? Is there a need for modification? These intrinsic queries are imperative for any organization to evaluate annually and who could provide better insight than the individuals we serve. If you are a student, adult leader, educator, parent, or staff member at SMS, we kindly request five minutes to respond to these questions. Your input is highly valued and appreciated.
If you were to be honored with a gift or award from FCA, what would be your preference? Do you lean towards receiving a book or candy? Perhaps a gift card or an elephant?
This is your moment to voice your choice! Participating in this brief survey will only take 30 seconds, and it exclusively benefits you!

Shelbyville Middle School FCA will be participating in the SCC Prayer Immersion Experience.
Prayer walking is taking our prayers to the very places where we desire to see God's presence manifested and our prayers answered - in our community! It is our goal to cover every street and neighborhood in Shelbyville in prayer by the end of the year.
We will meet at The Bridge, 1504 S Harrison Street, at 9:30 am for light refreshments.
There will be a cookout at Warren's house for all who joined in the experience. Parents are welcome to join in as well. Let me know if you have any questions.
If you plan on attending, please register so we know how much food to purchase for the cookout. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER
Due to my work schedule and COVID, FCA is canceled for January 14th. We will resume our meetings on January 21. Same bat time, same bat channel.
Here is our schedule for the second semester of the 2021-22 School year.

It is with great sadness that I need to announce that due to my new work schedule starting in January, I will no longer be able to host our weekly bible study on Tuesday mornings.
How do you come up with just one WORD? Reflection. Follow the instructions on these two documents and then email me your word at ShelbyvilleFCA@gmail.com
The Angel Tree Program is a need-based Christmas assistance program. Not only do they help kids get toys or games on their wish lists, but the main priority is to ensure kids get clothing and shoes to get them through the winter months. Each Angel Tree Christmas list includes their shirt, pants, and shoe size as well as a gift wish. The gift wish is typically a toy, but may also be a book or something other than a toy.
Each year the Shelbyville Middle School FCA Club sponsors several of the Angel Tree recipients. This year we have requested to sponsor eleven students.
We will be shopping on December 11th. We will meet at the Shelbyville Walmart at 10:00 AM to begin the shopping. We will plan on leaving Walmart at 11:00 AM (depending on the number of volunteers) and going to the SMS to wrap presents and have lunch (pizza).
Students should be ready to be picked up around noon. I will have the students text their parents/guardians when we serve lunch to inform them of an exact time.
We are asking each student that participates to purchase at least one item on one of the recipient lists (approx. $20). The estimated cost to purchase all items on a recipients list is $60. If the student would like to purchase more than one item on a list, or all three items, that would be awesome as well; however, we are only requesting that they cover the cost of one item.
Below is a link to sign up for this event. In the reservation form we are asking the following questions:

From children to seniors, people pack shoebox gifts each year to bless children in need around the world. Parents often use the project to teach their kids about giving. Year-round volunteers support these efforts across the country. You can help by putting together a box. Or you can help by donating to the Shelbyville Middle School FCA
If you are a student at SMS and would like to participate, please RSVP using the links below.
As an SMS FCA group, we will be shopping for the necessary items to fill our shoebox. You will need to plan to spend around $25 per box you would like to make.
We will meet at Cagany's on Saturday, November 6th at 11:30 AM for lunch then will do our shopping at Walmart. After that, we will then go to Warren's house to enjoy some hot chocolate and smores as we put our boxes together.
Parents should plan to pick you up at around 3:00 PM.
Please RSVP so I can make sure I have the necessary room for transporting everyone to Walmart and then to my house.
If you are able to help with, transportation please indicate that on the RSVP form. If we are unable to provide transportation to everyone that would like to attend, we will reserve spots based on a first come first serve basis as RSVPs are submitted.
If you cant show with the SMS FCA group, you can also do this as a family, or it can be an addition to the group event. If your church is doing OCC, feel free to get your boxes and listen to items you can submit and return your box to them.
If you need boxes, please email me at shelbyvillefca@gmail.com. You can deliver your boxes to me at any meeting (Huddle/Small Group), at my house, or email me and we can arrange a time to pick them up. The deadline to get the boxes to Shelbyville Community Church is Sunday, November 21st.
If you do this, please email me the number of boxes you sent so we can keep count of how SMS FCA is helping.

You can help send shoebox gifts to these hard-to=reach areas of the world online. In just a few easy clicks online, select items you want to send to a child in need. Samaritan's Purse will pack and ship the gift for you for a suggested donation of $25, which covers the cost of the contents, shipping, and other project costs.
Just go to: www.samaritanspurse.org/buildonline
If you do this, please email me the number of boxes you sent so we can keep count of how SMS FCA is helping.

How To pack your shoebox gift
As you prayerfully prepare to pack your shoebox gift, please remember that your shoebox may be the only gift the child ever receives. So, plan to pack quality items that will last.
