Outstanding leadership isn't just about leading others. Great leadership starts with self-leadership. If we want to be great leaders, we must lead ourselves first.
This year the student leaders wanted to be more intentional about how we lead our Friday Huddles. So we reworked the schedule this year. And with that, we will need ALL student leaders to be at the school by 6:40 AM -every Friday morning.
Also, we will need ALL leaders at our Student Leader Meeting on Wednesdays of each week. We will meet in room 201 and start at 6:50 AM, so we will need you all to be there by 6:45 AM.
This week, please read Mark 6:7-13 and fill out the PDF below. Or you can download it to your Google Drive by clicking THIS LINK.
Please text me your completed form by midnight of Sept 12th.
Preparing for Lesson 04
First, watch the video.
Second thing: complete the pdf below.
Third thing: text me your completed PDF.
Assignments are due by Thursday evening, please.
You will also find the facilitator guide below, the student guide you will use on Friday.
That's it. Easy peasy.
Here is our schedule for the first semester. This will be subject to my work schedule and may change. At this point, you can plan on our Student Leader Meetings to be every Wednesday morning from 6:50 to 8:15 AM. We will typically meet in room 201.
As part of revamping the SMS FCA this year, each leader will be assigned a position at the start of FCA each Friday. The positions are listed below:
Each Student Leader will also be helping lead small groups. I hope that each student leader will be paired with an adult volunteer.
We will review the lesson and small group questions at our Wednesday Morning Leaders' Meeting. This is why it is so essential that each student leader makes is Wednesday meetings.
Here is the assignment for week two:
First, watch the video.
Second thing; we should always be developing in some way.
I need you to think about what specific trait you need to develop in your own leadership.
What is the top area you want to improve?
Please write it down in one sentence.
I need you to text that one sentence to me.
That's it. Easy peasy.
I first need each leader to record a video of themselves saying the following quotes:
You can work on it with a friend or record it by yourself. If you're on vacation, get creative. Record it on the beach, at the pool, in front of your hotel. Find a unique background. (please make sure it's quiet for better audio; you may have to get up early and do it.) Same thing if you're at home.
Please send me the video(s) sometime this week (June 4th - 10th).
If you are at Monday's meeting (June 5th), we will walk around the downtown area using different backgrounds after we eat.
Once you have it completed, text or email it to me. If you use an Android phone, can you put it on your Google Drive and share it with me? Androids compress the file so small that it's hard to see the subject.
I will edit these videos and post them on our social media outlets. So if you do not want them posted, please let me know. But I still want you to do the video of each quote.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
After Monday night's meeting, I will post what we reviewed and your assignment for the rest of the week.
Any questions?
Watch this video! Take notes on what stuck out to you and why. Text me what you learned and how you will apply it to your leadership life.
In the video, Craig tells us we should write, "I am a leader!" on our bathroom mirror to remind us who we are. An example we gave on Monday night was to write, "Leadership is not something I do. It is something that I am." on a piece of duct tape and put that on your sports bag, forehead, or iPad. Anyplace where you will see it every day after you do that, please send me a picture of how you did it. Again, make it personal to you.
The second part of this week's assignment is:
